SDMC is the replacement for HMC, server that allow to manage IBM Power servers. IBM has planed to withdrawn HMC the 31 december 2012. SDMC are available as Virtual appliance for VMware or Redhat, or like hardware appliance with same hardware as HMC.

When you first start your SDMC, be patient, first boot can take up to 1 hour, then you will access a Wizard:

Suivre le Wizard pour configurer la SDMC (server Linux Redhat)
•	Définir la time zone, langue…
•	Définir un password pour les users :
-	sysadmin xxx
-	root xxx
-	pe xxx
•	Définir une adresse IP pour eth0 (4 ports disponibles au total)
          ip,netmask,gateway 

•	Ouvertures firewall à ajouter :
o	SMcli
o	System Director Console http Allowed
o	NTP Time server : xxx
•	DNS : xxx domain xxx
•	Agent Manager (requis):
o	Resource Manager user ID : rmagent
o	Resource Manager password : xxx
o	Agent registration password : xxx
