DS8800 Initial Setup
IP for DS8800:
10.10.10.10 ds8000mc (DS8800-HMC)
10.10.10.11 sspc (DS8800 – SSPC)
Mask: 255.255.255.0
GW: 10.10.10.1
login/password for HMC (local only): CE / serv1cece login/password for HMC (remote): customer / cust0mer
Step 1: Install DSCLI (DS command line interface)
install DSCLI command line on a server (download it from ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/storage/ds8000/updates/DS8K_Customer_Download_Files/CLI/ ), or workstation. It's easier to use UNIX or Linux machine, to be able to create scripts.
Step 2: Update the admin password from HMC
From the workstation with DSCLI command line installed, connect to DS8000 HMC (also available for Windows):
