Stat.exe to generate report on disk usage on SVC
install “stat” software from IBM Central fixes, select SVC version 6.1 even if you are on 6.4. Only available for Windows.
Activate easytiering on SVC even if you don't use it (command line):
svcinfo lsmdiskgrp
To get the pool numbers of each pool. say you have pools 1 and 2. Now do
svctask chmdiskgrp -easytier on 1 svctask chmdiskgrp -easytier on 2
On the SVC wait 24h, then a file called dpa_heat.<xxxxx>.data will be generated. Download it –> Settings –> Support , you can also generate a support package which contain this file.
On the Windows do :
C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\STAT>stat dpa_heat.78G01A6-2.110823.072309.data
Use a web browser to open the index.html file generated into C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\STAT
