Ontap Select design on VMware

Ontap select on VMware:

• for metrocluster, LAN latency <10ms
• distance between 2 site < 30 km
• LAN MTU 9000 (required)

Pricing: only visible storage on Ontap must be priced per TB (to validate with Netapp)

Other solution if latency it too high:

• create a local metrocluster (MTU 9000), and use snapmirror to create a third copy of data on another location (MTU 1500 is supported). From license point of view, calculate 3x the net volumes (3 copies)

Ontap Select includes licence for metrocluster, snapmirror… except SnapLock.
